1st Month of School

  • We have completed our fourth week of school and we are enjoying the third week in our new building. The building is very nice and much appreciated by the students and staff.
  • The dedication of the new building went very well and there were over 300 people in attendance.
  • Unfortunately, our principal, Mr. Hill hasn't been able to enjoy the majority of the beginning of the school year with us. He is recovering from several broken bones due to a fall. Please keep him in your prayers.
  • Congratulations to Mr. Zweigart! He recently presented his Master's thesis to the review board at SIUE and will be awarded his Master's degree in engineering soon!
  • The girls volley-ball team played their first game against New Athens High School on September 9th. Although they lost, the team played very well.
  • There are new work stations being installed in the science room and they are looking fantastic. We are still waiting on the counter tops and sink and they should be arriving soon. They are tiling the unfinished classroom and it should be ready soon.
  • We are planning an eighth grade visitation for October 30. If you know of any students that would like to attend please contact the school office for more information.
  • Welcome YoonMin Kim! She is from South Korea and we are enjoying getting to know her.
  • We welcomed a new mascot for the Math Team this week. Theta the Beta fish now resides in Mr. Zweigart's classroom

Laborers for Christ

Check out the story in the Randolph County Herald Tribune about the faithful men and women of Laborers for Christ who are building our new facility. What a great story. Even more, what a great bunch of people. You can read the story on our web site or visit http://www.randolphcountyheraldtribune.com/homepage/x695081268/Laborers-For-Christ-work-at-COSLHS.

Don't forget to mark Aug. 30 on your calendar when we will dedicate our new school and have an open house,
